The Armed Forces Covenant

Was your loved one in the Armed Forces?

The Solent Celebrant commits to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.

My father was a Royal Marine and requested that at his funeral service his beret and medals be placed upon the Union Jack on his coffin.

His eulogy contained extracts from his service life: He served 22 years in the Royal Marines where he rose to the rank of Quartermaster Sergeant, receiving a long service medal and NGS medal for service in Palestine in 1945. On leaving the Royal Marine’s his service record states ‘The “Superior” assessment given to this QMS is in fact the equivalent of “Exceptional” for a Naval Rating” his retirement will be a loss to the Service.

A poem about The Royal Marines was read and music from The Band of the Royal Marines was played too.

If your loved one was in the services I am happy to read their service record, if available, and create their eulogy with service history, mentions etc, also find suitable service themed poems and music.

Proud to support the Armed Forces Covenant
